Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated individual to become our Neuroscience Ward Manager.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate leader to help deliver high quality patient care, working with our comprehensive Multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will provide strong clinical leadership, ensuring delivery of safe, effective, quality patient centred care. Our department manage the care of complex neurological conditions, including stroke requiring Hyper acute management, Head injury, Parkinson's, Multiple sclerosis, MND and many more. We also provide care for patients with Tracheostomy/Laryngectomy.

Heydon Ward works very closely with Ingham Ward, with the more Hyper acute care for stroke being managed on Heydon before moving through to Ingham. It is essential that the 2 areas work closely together to support the patient pathway and staffing model.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate would work with the Ingham team and the comprehensive MDT to support patients through their hospital journey. They would be instrumental in communicating to patients and relatives through what are often life changing condition.

Key responsibilities would be:

  • Provide clear leadership and support to the nursing team, whilst supporting decision making with the whole MDT.
  • Promote a positive ward culture, focusing on Patient experience and staff well-being.
  • Ensure compliance with rostering, recruitment and performance management through our quality markers.
