Housekeeper - Endoscopy

The closing date is 31 January 2026

Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our established team, supporting the Endoscopy Units based at the NNUH and QI.

You will work alongside colleagues to ensure all areas within the department are clean, safe, and welcoming for both patients and staff. Duties will include tasks such as changing bed linen, cleaning specialised equipment, organising store cupboards, and ordering stock.

If you are an organised, reliable, and conscientious individual who wants to make a real difference to the experience of patients and staff, we would love to hear from you.

Why choose our team?

Our Endoscopy Department is an award-winning, friendly place to work, where Housekeepers are valued as an essential part of the team.

You will work in a clean, modern clinical environment, supporting nurses and doctors by helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety for patients. Full training and a structured induction will be provided, and you will be supported by a welcoming and experienced team.

The role offers weekday working patterns, helping to support a good work-life balance.

If you take pride in keeping areas clean and organised, enjoy working as part of a team, and want a role where your work makes a real difference every day, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with nursing, medical, technical, ancillary, and administrative colleagues.
  • Assist with cleaning duties and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in all areas.
  • Support the cleaning, decontamination, and quality testing of specialised equipment in line with local policies.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance of ward-level equipment, ensuring faults are reported promptly, accurate records are maintained, and equipment is retrieved and returned as required.
  • Check linen allocation daily, report any issues to the Ward Coordinator, and liaise with the linen room to resolve problems. Ensure soiled linen is correctly bagged and disposed of in accordance with policy.
  • Ensure emergency equipment is available and ready for use at all beds, including oxygen tubing, masks, and suction equipment.

Please note that due to high volume of applications for some posts, this post may close before the displayed closing date. We recommend that you apply for this role as soon as possible.
