Healthcare support worker – clinical care - Podiatry

Job summary

The Diabetic Foot Clinic treats people with foot disease and wounds as a result of Diabetes. We are a team of Podiatrists and work alongside Consultants, Nurses, Shoe fitter and other health care practitioners. We see patients who have complex foot disease, such as ulceration, poor circulation and nerve damage.

We are an outpatient clinic based at The Elsie Bertram Diabetes Centre and are open Monday- Friday 8am - 6pm.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a HCA to join our team of 7 podiatrists and 3 HCAs to help us manage our ever-increasing caseload. The post holder will be responsible for working in at team helping the podiatrists deliver care to the patients. The duties will include getting patients to and from the clinic, dressing removal, assisting with casting, recording patient observations, assisting with footwear/offloading fitting, booking appointments, maintaining the clinical environment and keeping stock maintained.

This role will be split between the main NNUH site and our satellite clinic at Cromer hospital. We anticipate the hours to be worked Wednesday to Friday with one short day and 2 longer days.
