Diabetes in Pregnancy Administrative Assistant

Main duties of the job

  • To review patient records to ensure aspects of care are completed (eg retinal screening, HbA1c, Booking bloods etc), printing off relevant request forms and reporting to team members if appropriate.
  • To record DSM activity in clinic
  • To input data into the Maternity diabetes database
  • To arrange and attend antenatal diabetes team meetings, send out agenda, take and distribute minutes
  • To keep up to date the 'S 'drive, Diabetes folder
  • To retrieve records on request by medical or midwifery staff and ensure they have been tracked and then returned appropriately.
  • To file information into maternity records as requested.
  • To create and send appropriate standard letters in different clinical situations, both antenatally and postnatally
  • To download data from glucose meters where appropriate
  • To participate in data collection for audit when appropriate
  • To provide statistics to the diabetes antenatal team members for reports.
  • To communicate with the diabetes antenatal team as necessary.
  • To comply with relevant training requirements and be proficient in the use of Trust IT systems, including PAS, ICE, Protos.
  • To keep informed of any developments in relation to A & C responsibilities.
