Job summary
We have embarked on a programme to implement a single Electronic Patient Record (EPR) as part of the NHS digital health ongoing initiative across the Norfolk and Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative (NWAHC). The collaborative is made up of three acute hospitals in Norfolk and Waveney;
James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (JPUH)
Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH)
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust (QEH)
This is a unique opportunity to contribute your skills and expertise to create a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of individuals throughout Norfolk and Waveney. We are dedicated to advancing our digital capabilities in alignment with our long-term strategic goals, ensuring a high standard of patient care and safety for our diverse communities.
The acute hospitals in Norfolk are a vital part of the health and social care system. Our digital mission is an essential part of our transformation into a post-modern healthcare system.
The Transformation and Adoption workstream oversees several vital sub-projects, including leadership and culture, communications and engagement, organisational readiness, cutover, benefits realisation, process design, end-user training and User Acceptance Testing.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Project Manager is to provide the governance, structure, process, and critical challenge for the workstream deliverables and to report on progress including key issues and risks to enable key decisions and actions to be taken in a timely manner.
Working in partnership with the EPR leadership team, operational and clinical colleagues, you will lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of the new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. This landmark programme will enable safer, more efficient, and more connected care for our patients, while improving staff experience and supporting the wider digital ambitions of our region.
The post holder will have significant experience in programme and project management and have specialist knowledge in transformation and adoption of large scale digital systems (preferable EPRs), with proven experience of working in healthcare environments.
A key component of this role will be planning, coordinating and overseeing the successful completion of both User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and cutover. The post holder will ensure that both projects are carried out to the highest standards, within agreed timescales, and with the effective use of NHS staff and external resources.
