Job summary
We are offering a full time substantive position as a Consumables and Materials Controller in a busy procedural area at the NNUH.
Our innovative Cardiology department's Cardiac Cath labs comprise of 5 Cath Labs, a recovery area and an Elective Unit. Procedures completed in the Cath Lab include coronary diagnostic procedures, interventional angioplasty, Electrophysiology Studies and Pacemaker insertion. In addition we run a 24 hour heart attack service which is provided out of hours on an on call basis. Our service currently entails 2.5 GA lists a week supporting complex pacing and electrophysiology procedures. We also have a fortnightly cardioversion list. This is set to increase in the future.
As a Consumables and Materials Controller you will be responsible for managing of all elements of stock for the department to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Main duties of the job
Main duties as Consumables and Materials Controller include;
- To be responsible for stock volume and provide a stock administration function for Cardiac Cath Labs, to support the Nurses, Physiologists and Radiographers in the smooth running of the department.
- To maintain Cath Lab clinical stock items and equipment to agreed levels following a schedule of count, delivery and shelf replenishment.
- To manage the stock inventory so that it shows accurate stock levels and use. To place orders with supply companies via the Oracle system as and when required, to manage sale or return stock and monitor the correct recording of consignment stock use.
- To assist with and/or identify stock rationalisation/standardisations, to unpack and store appropriately in a timely fashion and to manage the Housekeeper and Cath Lab Support Workers when working on these tasks.
This role is based at the main NNUH site.
Working hours are 37.5 per week.
