Job summary
  The successful applicant will work as a Consultant Medical Microbiologist and Infectious Diseases at the Norfolk and Norwich University Teaching Hospital and Eastern Pathology Alliance (EPA).
 A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

  Main duties of the job
  This is a replacement post to join a team of Consultant Microbiologist and Virologist in sharing the provision of day-to-day clinical microbiology, virology, infectious disease service and infection prevention and control services at Norfolk and Norwich University Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust (NNUHFT), James Paget University Hospital (JPUH), Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn (QEHKL) and the Norfolk region.
 The successful candidate will be working alongside seven existing Microbiology consultants to provide a comprehensive microbiology and infectious disease service for the NNUHFT and the Eastern Pathology Alliance (EPA) including provision of cross-cover for infection prevention and control.
 The post holder will participate in a single rota for out of hours cover across Norfolk resulting in an anticipated frequency of 1 in 8 at full capacity.
