Job summary

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinician to join our team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, a large state of the art teaching hospital. The post holder will work with both inpatients and outpatients, predominately within the specialisms of Head and Neck Cancer and Voice disorder.You will be joining a well-supported, strong team of specialist Head and Neck and Voice speech and language therapists, who are well established with a fantastic reputation throughout the hospital. The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital forms part of the East of England Cancer Alliance and is the main Head and Neck Cancer site for Norfolk, Waveney and East Suffolk. The SLT team works closely the MDT with the opportunity to attend weekly ward rounds, MDT meetings/clinics, radiotherapy clinic and close liaison with the dietitians and clinical nurse specialists.

Main duties of the job

The NNUH SLT team is enthusiastic and innovative and committed to evidence-based practice. You will receive regular supervision, will have the opportunity to be involved in service development and research projects and attend regular team meetings. As part of our commitment to continuing professional development, we offer a clinical skills development in managing voice prosthesis and tracheostomy, and conducting FEES and Videofluoroscopy. In addition, the team also has strong links with the University of East Anglia including the undergraduate SLT degree course and Medical School.

  • Completion of Postgraduate Dysphagia training.

Experience

  • Postgraduate clinical experience of working with adult patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders.

  • Experience of working with patients with Head and Neck cancer and tracheostomies/ laryngectomies.
