Job summary

The Radiology department at the Norfolk and Norwich University NHS Hospital is looking for a Band 2 Imaging Support Worker's to join our friendly team. The successful candidates will get the opportunity to work in the state-of-the-art Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. The new centre, which opened in February 2025, provides imaging services to outpatients requiring CT, MRI, X-Ray and Ultrasound appointments.

We are looking for someone who has the want and the passion to support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, and to consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity, and Excellence.

You would be expected to work a variety of day shifts across Monday-Sunday with shift times between the hours of 07:30-20:00.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support Radiology personnel in providing a safe, high-quality environment for the carrying out of diagnostic imaging within the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) or by the patient's bedside by:

  • Assisting in the preparation of the unit /work area.
  • Assisting in the general upkeep and maintenance of stock levels in the department and ordering as appropriate.
  • Assisting the recovery team in the preparation of the area.
  • Providing a safe departmental environment which minimizes the risk of infection.
  • Support of administrative tasks.

  • Help with cleaning and maintain tidiness in all areas.
  • Assist with the cleaning of all radiology equipment.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of equipment at department level, reporting and ensuring accurate records are kept and equipment retrieved and returned as necessary.
  • To check linen allocation daily, report any problems to the nurse in charge and liaise with the linen room to rectify problems. Ensure dirty linen is bagged and disposed of correctly. Clean linen bags regularly throughout the department.
  • Ensure adequate stocks of items are in areas as required and assist with the ordering of stores and stationery supplies. Know how to use Powergate where applicable.

Please note that this advertised position, which is part of occupation code 6131 does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa. The Trust would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role
