Trainee Advance Clinical Practitioner (tACP) - ED

The closing date is 26 June 2025

Job summary

Are you an experienced, enthusiastic, and credentialed ACP? Are you looking to develop and further your career in a busy and expanding Emergency Department (ED)?

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital's (NNUH) ED is growing. We are looking for passionate and skilled clinicians to add to our multi-disciplinary team as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP). The ideal candidate will already be credentialed with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine as an ACP. Our credentialed ACPs work as autonomous practitioners delivering emergency care across all areas of the ED.

The NNUH ED is led by a motivated team who are forward thinking in their approach to emergency medicine. Our ED is the busiest in the region, where no two days are the same. Our dynamic clinical and support teams are passionate about delivering high quality care to our patients, and we do this despite the challenges that are thrown our way. You will be joining at a time of exciting development, improvement, and change, and we look forward to you being part of this journey with us.

If you're a passionate, resilient clinician motivated to take on a new challenge within a forward-thinking department, we would love to hear from you!

Please note, this role includes working a clinical pattern covering a 24/7 rota.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of an established team of trainee and credentialed RCEM ACPs who are working across all areas of the department, minors, majors, paediatrics, ambulatory, and resus. As an ACP service we have a proven track record of success and are proud of the seven trainees that have already completed their RCEM training, across Adults and Paediatrics.

You will provide high-quality, patient focused, efficient and comprehensive assessment and treatment to a range of patients arriving through our front doors. Alongside this you will receive professional support, training and supervision from peers, nursing colleagues, ACPS and Doctors.

The service is Consultant led with professional leadership from the ACP lead. Continued training will be supported externally and in-house education and training led by the ED consultant body. We have strong links with local HEI and we encourage our team to be involved in the education of the next generation of ACPs and Nurses. We encourage our ACPs to explore areas of interest and we look to support those interests for the benefit of our patients.
