An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cancer Services Team for a Cancer Data & Compliance Manager. The Cancer Services Team work with all divisions and specialties across the NNUH, assisting with management of patients on a cancer pathway.
The post holder will be passionate about accurate data recording and will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the trust's cancer registry as well as leading on increasing clinical engagement, providing training & expertise on the registry to trust-wide users. The post holder will be responsible for inputting and validating complex clinical data and will be expected to assist with cancer related audit projects relating to Cancer Waiting Times and Clinical Outcome Standards Dataset (COSD) in readiness for regional and national reporting.
The post holder will be responsible for leading, developing and implementing local improvement policies and processes in line with national standards and guidance, working collaboratively to deliver high quality timely services to our cancer patients.
Main duties of the job
As Cancer Data and Compliance Manager you will lead a range of quality improvement activities to deliver improvement in cancer outcomes and experience for patients. You will be required to ensure robust training packages and competency documents to ensure all staff using the Trust's Cancer Registry are equipped with the essential knowledge and understanding to undertake their roles efficiently and effectively, developing quality assurance reporting mechanisms for all key cancer performance indicators and audit metrics to ensure compliance. You will be required to present findings of non-compliance to Multi-Disciplinary Teams to understand their development and training requirements and provide expert support to enable constant improvement.
The post holder will have primary responsibility for ensuring the Trust produces and delivers accurate cancer monitoring pathway data by ensuring robust Trust wide systems and processes are in place in order to deliver timely and complete reporting of national cancer standards and clinical audit submissions targets. Leading on all data collection and data quality for national cancer waiting times, the Cancer Outcomes and Services Dataset and Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy Datasets, you will be the expert in all matters relating to constitutional standards/performance targets providing advice on cancer waiting times and the appropriate use of the Cancer Registry.
