Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse - Endoscopy

Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced Registered Nurses committed to providing quality patient care interested in an opportunity to join our existing team of deputy sisters.

As deputy sister/charge nurse you will work collaboratively within our large multidisciplinary team to ensure delivery of the endoscopy services. You will actively engage and train other members of the department and you will support senior management in the effective running of the clinical area. You will also be responsible for many aspects of staff management to include staff development, assessment of competence and compliance with all HR policies and guidelines. Senior support will be provided at all times.

You will be supporting, supervising and co-ordinating a busy endoscopy unit whilst supporting staff to provide effective, safe, high-quality care. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

We are a National Bowel Cancer Screening Centre and a centre of excellence for endoscopy training providing approved training courses for both doctors and nurses.

We are fully JAG (Joint Advisory Group) accredited and at our last assessment the endoscopy team was congratulated for facilitating high quality patient care across all disciplines.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have the underpinning knowledge and assessed level of competence to undertake this role. The post holder must have a foundation degree in health studies or equivalent, for example a diploma in higher education or a higher national diploma (level 5). Our shift patterns are between 08.00am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday but some on call commitments are required on evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays however this will be agreed in advance.
