Job summary

Welcome to Norfolk, it is no surprise that Norwich often features in the Sunday Times and the Guardian's 'Best Places to Live' guides, with access to the Broads National Park, miles of coastline, endless cycle routes, charming seaside towns, good schools and welcoming communities. Norwich is an historic city boasting two cathedrals, a castle, two universities, good transport links to Cambridge, London and Peterborough, and a world leading research park.

Established for more than 250 years, we are a large acute teaching hospital with over 1,200 beds and state of the art facilities. We are a growing campus, with new developments such as the Norfolk and Norwich Orthopaedic Centre (NaNOC) and the Diagnostic Assessment Centre (DAC). We are also working in close collaboration with our neighbours across the Norfolk & Waveney system to align clinical services to ensure the best access and care for patients in our community.

Come and join us, working in a beautiful purpose-built health and research campus, with a team of over 11,500 dedicated colleagues committed to delivering the highest quality care to our community.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an inspirational Chief Nurse to join us. Together with executive colleagues, you will take responsibility for the quality of care provided to patients, leadership of the workforce, the strategic leadership of the organisation and delivery of performance and financial sustainability. You will also be the Executive lead for Safeguarding, Risk Management, Infection Prevention and Control.

As Chief Nurse you will promote a culture where colleagues feel safe to raise concerns and provide professional leadership of the nursing, midwifery and allied health workforce, while remaining in line with our values and polices. We are a university teaching hospital, and our Chief Nurse will develop and enhance our academic and research partnerships to ensure that we continue our important research and innovation work, as well as provide a high-quality learning environment for clinical professionals.

I hope you are excited by the opportunity to be part of Team NNUH and look forward to meeting you. If you would like to arrange an informal discussion, please do contact my Executive Assistant Carol at Email Carol.Cooke@nnuh.nhs.uk or Telephone 01603 287605
