Job summary

The Radiology department at the Norfolk and Norwich University NHS Hospital is looking for a Band 2 Radiology Housekeeper to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will get the opportunity to work across the whole of the Radiology department. This includes within the state-of-the-art Norfolk Centre for Interventional Radiology which opened in September 2020, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy and Plain Film.

You would be expected to work Monday-Friday with shift times between the hours of 07:00am-15:00pm

Main duties of the job

The main responsibilities of this post are:

o Establish and maintain a working rapport with radiology nursing, medical, technical, ancillary and administration colleagues.

o Assist with the cleaning of all radiology equipment. To be responsible for the maintenance of equipment at department level, reporting and ensuring accurate records are kept and equipment retrieved and returned as necessary.

o To check linen allocation daily, report any problems to the Modality Team Lead and liaise with the linen room to rectify problems. Ensure dirty linen is bagged and disposed of correctly. Clean linen bags regularly throughout the department.

o Check emergency equipment is available in all bed bays i.e. oxygen tubing, masks, suction; ensure cleaning checklists are maintained.

o Ensure adequate stocks of items are in areas as required, and assist with the ordering of stores and stationery supplies using EP2P ordering system.

o Make refreshments for patients and wash up as required.

o To assist qualified and support staff with patient comfort and manual handling as required.

o Help with bed making and where required prepare beds appropriately to meet the needs of individual patients i.e. additional pillows, cot sides, special mattresses and bed appliances

o Help with preparation of clinical examination rooms.

o Maintain and keep noticeboards tidy and up to date.

o Assist new staff to orientate to the ward area and support new staff as required.
