Job summary

To process and bank payments received for Trust accounts. Day to day supervision of Patient Travel advisor. Maintain valuable property database and ensure safekeeping and return of same. Daily reconciliation and reimbursement of main petty cash float as well as two other floats held.

Main duties of the job

The Cashier is responsible for the daily reconciliation of cash held in the cash office. They are also responsible for up-dating the eRoster on a daily basis for the entire Patient Services team. They ensure that the Cash Office is secure at the end of the day.

Banking once a week, the income cash and cheques needs to reconciled ready for collection by the secure courier and the deliveries of cash need to be checked and integrated into the cash float.

The Cashier is also pivotal in the lost property operations by accessing the messages on the Lost Property line and passing these messages to the lost property team. They will also have to deal with enquires at the Cash Office window which may mean dealing with angry or upset patients and possibly bereaved visitors.

The Cashier also supports the Manager Patient Services when required with regard to claims for lost property.

  • Good IT skills - good standard and working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
