Job summary

We have an opportunity for a Health Care Assistant to join our Outpatients' team in Older Peoples' Medicine (OPM).

We have a firmly established multi-professional approach to care delivery and the patient is at the centre of all that we do. We have a progressive and friendly team committed to delivering high standards of care, and you will be working alongside nursing colleagues and other Professionals.

We aim to work together as a team to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. We provide support and help to the patient and their family when they attend clinic appointment. We are looking for applicants who want to progress in their career in health care and we are fully committed to supporting you to achieve your potential.

Although experience as a Health Care Assistant is not essential you must have experience in a customer facing role or a position which requires you to work compassionately.

We support our inpatient colleagues in the wards when they need support; therefore, the potential candidate is expected to work in the ward area occasionally.

Main duties of the job

As a post holder you will be required to:

Work with members of the clinical team within a multidisciplinary framework.

  • To carry out instructions accurately and promptly.
  • To assist in the preparation of patients and equipment for treatment, investigations or procedures as directed.
  • To adhere to Trust infection control procedures demonstrating an understanding of cross infection.
  • To ensure that patients are helped to retain their dignity and individuality.
  • Maintain a high standard of patient care under the direction of the Department lead Nurse.
  • Assisting the patient to during their clinic appointment.
  • Provide and deliver a high standard of individualised care to the patient according to trust policy.
  • Working in a multidisciplinary team, under the supervision of trained Nursing staff.

Working hours are Mon - Fri, 8:30 -16:30 No Weekends or Bank Holidays
