Job summary

The General, Thoracic, Vascular and Robotic Theatres are looking to expand their senior team. We are looking for dynamic, highly motivated, positive and forward-thinking individuals to support the Clinical Lead. This is an exciting development opportunity to join a variety of evolving specialties.

The General, Thoracic, Vascular & robotic Team manage the upper GI Service, supporting all upper GI surgeries including Minimally Invasive Oesophagectomies, Breast Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Colorectal Robotic Surgery, Thoracic, Thoracic Robotic Surgery including VAT's Video Assisted Thoracoscopic procedures, (the Norfolk & Norwich being the home to a Reference Centre for robotic surgery ) and Vascular surgery including joint working with The Norfolk Centre for Interventional Radiology Department, the unit provides state of the art minimally invasive procedures using advanced radiological image techniques, under the guidance of X-rays, ultrasound and CT.

Experience within these fields of surgery is advantageous, although not essential as training would be provided to the suitable candidate.

Main duties of the job

As a deputy team leader, you will be required to lead and manage the theatres and the team on daily basis, providing supervision, organisation and co-ordination of the staff, theatres, and all aspects of service provision including HR auditing and data collection. There will be the opportunity to be involved with theatre utilisation and productivity including all the multidisciplinary teams that are involved in this process.

You is responsible for supporting the clinical lead in providing effective management, co-ordination of patient care and activity to the highest level throughout the patient's operative pathway, in order to promote a patient centred approach to high quality health care whilst upholding and influencing professional and Trust Pride values.
