Job summary
The Norfolk Centre for Interventional Radiology is equipped with cutting edge imaging technology with 2 Siemens Pheno C-arms and 2 Artis Q ceiling mounted C-arms with embolisation and needle guidance capabilities via on-table dyna CT and also Ultrasound-CT fusion for biopsies.
This purpose-built unit also has dedicated male and female recovery areas, an anaesthetic room and outpatient reception area whilst housing all management and support staff for the service including pre-assessment rooms.
The team provide a wide range of elective, in-patient vascular, non-vascular interventional procedures including complex aortic Interventions; TIPs, peripheral angioplasties and stenting, prostate artery and uterine artery embolisations, urology, hepato-biliary interventions and upper/lower GI work. We currently perform intra-vascular lithotripsy and new procedures are being brought into the unit in the near future.
A 5th suite is planned for completion in 2025 for the new NNUH stroke thrombectomy service, which will be managed and staffed by the NCIR team.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced interventional radiographer to lead the Norfolk Centre of Interventional Radiology (NCIR) into the next chapter of our development. We are looking for a forward thinking, dynamic and pragmatic leader to support the delivery of high quality safe and compassionate services, lead on service expansion and take the new and existing work force into the next phase of growth and development. Our vison is to support the expansion of Radiographer and Nursing roles within interventional radiology within a truly multidisciplinary team environment and we would like you to be at the forefront of this journey alongside our Radiology Matron.
In conjunction with the senior leadership team, you will be required to promote continuous improvement using current methods to improve productivity, workforce transformation and quality. You will be responsible for ensuring effective and appropriate use of resources and balance the needs of elective and acute service uses and be accountable for ensuring collaborative working with clinical and non-clinical staff groups both within NCIR, the wider Imaging Department and the Trust, to fulfil local and national Governance, Workforce, Performance and Finance requirements.
