Job summary

The Transformation Directorate has a vital role in the delivery of NNUH's ambition to deliver outstanding care and support in the delivery of the Trust's strategic ambition and financial strategy with initiatives over the next 5 years, including the delivery of financial savings targets.

The Transformation Team works across the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is responsible for the discovery, design, and delivery of complex transformation initiatives, ensuring that all benefits are clearly defined and mapped and that quality impacts are considered, documented and monitored.

The Business Analyst will be integral to the discovery, design and delivery of Transformation priorities for the Trust and will be pivotal in supporting the delivery of sustainable business change, promoting the effective and efficient use of resources across the Trust.

Full time hours- 37.5 per week (will consider part-time/job share).

Main duties of the job

As the post holder, you will also be expected to:

  • analyse and interrogate complex data sets and to develop meaningful opportunities for change and improvement. This will include horizon scanning and benchmarking with other Trusts, The post holder will be expected to contribute to the development of business cases.
  • know and apply the right business analysis tools to help diagnose problems and develop solutions.
  • be involved in working collaboratively with stakeholders to define current and new ways of working, but also ensuring that there are clear baseline metrics and tracking methods for the changes being proposed.

The role is expected to comfortably elicit requirements from a variety of stakeholders and run workshops.

Opportunity identification and data analysis - exploring different data sets to identify opportunities.

Use of BA tools to support change - Employ a range of business analysis tools and techniques to develop methods for sustainable change.

Process modelling - If required employ a range of tools and techniques to map 'As-Is' and To-Be' business processes.

Productivity - to develop an in-depth understanding of productivity measures across divisions and specialisms to develop baselines and evidence improvements from change.

Business improvement - Assist with identification of continuous improvement opportunities and their solutions to ensure that defined project benefits are delivered.

  • Working with NNUHs senior management, divisions and teams to develop strategic priorities for change and transformation in line with the organisations strategic priorities, including delivery of financial savings.
  • Supporting NNUHs (senior management) teams to drive the discovery, design, and delivery ofthe Trusts complex transformation programmes and projects, supported by the Trusts strong governance in conjunction with the Programme Management Office.
  • Using change management approaches, and working closely with Transformation initiative owners, develop the scope and benefits of change initiatives, ensuring formal documentation is developed and drive the delivery of agreed initiatives, reporting progress against milestones and agreed metrics /delivery of benefits.
  • Ensuring robust governance controls are developed in line with the scope of the transformation initiative and the right decisions are made at the right time to deliver change in a timely way.
  • Working with and supporting clinical and support services colleagues to ensure joined up well thought through change.
  • Ensuring change and new ways of working are embraced by staff and embedded within services to ensure that all expected benefits.
  • Capture lessons learnt from previous projects to develop and build organisational knowledge and experience.
