Clinical Nurse Specialist - Migraine and Headaches

Job summary

We are a small team of Neurology Specialist Nurses each responsible for our own specialties including Parkinson's and Atypical Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, .Migraine and Headache disorders. As individuals we provide expert advice and support to patients and colleagues.

The team is based in the Neurology Outpatient's department operating a Monday - Friday service for our patients.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant would work alongside the Lead Specialist Nurse for Migraine and Headache disorders.

They will lead up to effectively running their own clinics, providing education, emotional and psychological support to patients.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with patients providing continuity of care. Liaising with Consultants locally and in the UK. They will be expected to help develop the service in this ever-growing field.

An opportunity to learn new skills with injection techniques. The successful candidate will be given training to administer Botulinum Toxin A (Botox ) for migraine , in adherence with NICE guidelines using the PREEMT paradigm for migraine.

The successful candidate will be expected to network and attend relevant conferences /study days relevant to the specialty of Migraine and Headache Disorders. There will be opportunities to present and teach in this complex field.

Clinics are held face to face and via telephone.
