Senior Clinical Radiology Fellow in Body or Chest Imaging

Fixed term 1 year post - aim to commence September 2024

Applications are invited for the prestigious post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Body and/or Chest Imaging within the Department of Radiology at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Department forms part of one of the most dynamic University Teaching Hospitals in the country, with an excellent reputation in patient care, research and development, and staff training/education.

Work has recently commenced on a Diagnostic Assessment Centre/Community Diagnostic Centre on site at the hospital. The centre will contain 5 MRI's, 4 Canon, 2 plain film rooms, and 2 ultrasound rooms. When operating at full capacity the centre will be performing 28,000 MRIs and 45,000 CT scans annually. The Centre comes with funding for over 14 substantive consultant posts which will be advertised 2024-2026. The Centre is due to open in 2025.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will be able to tailor their fellowship year to suit their needs and career ambitions. There will be a choice of subspecialties including upper GI including hepatobiliary, lower GI, gynaecology, urology, and chest and cardiac imaging. Candidates can split the post to do more than one subspecialty. Key responsibilities of this post include specialist reporting and scanning, MDT participation, in-hours acute imaging reporting, performing image guided biopsies and drainages, and participating in MDTs, teaching and research. There are no on-call responsibilities, but there are opportunities for additional Waiting List Initiative ultrasound and reporting lists.

The successful candidate will be encouraged to pursue research or teaching interests in the areas of their chosen subspecialty.
