Fixed term contract/ secondment opportunity for 18 months
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) are leading the way in the diabetes by providing an 18-month pilot in Norfolk & Waveney for patients with Type 1 Diabetes Disordered Eating. The Disordered Eating Service will be virtually operated service and be provided by a multi-disciplinary team across NNUH.
The Type 1 Diabetes with Disordered Eating Service (T1DE) is an eighteen-month fixed-term NHS England Pilot Clinical Service which brings together Diabetes and Mental Health Care within one team. The service will support patients with Type 1 Diabetes who have clinically severe fears of weight gain on insulin (sometimes referred to as 'Diabulimia'). The proposed pilot service aims to improve patient's confidence through their ability to manage both their Diabetes and Mental Health.
Support will be provided through both the close support of the MDT and through professional links within the Nutrition & Dietetic department.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for developing, implementing, and auditing dietetic service. You'll undertake much of your work within a supportive MDT working alongside specialist nurses, psychologists, doctors and mental health.
When you first arrive with us you will have a 4-week induction period where you will have shadowing opportunities across the specialities.
On an ongoing basis your responsibilities will include:
- Day to day patient care
- Prioritisation and organisation of caseloads
- Research and audit
- CPD activities
- Student training
- Involvement or leading projects to support service and nutritional improvement
- Active involvement in team meetings and discussions
You will be encouraged and supported in your CPD, and as you progress in the role we'll want you to share your knowledge with the wider department, helping to inform and develop departmental policies where required.
