The Aylsham Medical Day Unit is a Nurse led unit offering planned care for patients referred from all specialties across the Trust. This includes Blood transfusions, IV infusions, outpatient antimicrobial therapy (OPAT), paracentesis, biopsies and lumbar punctures. Our service was created in 2018 and now sees almost ten thousand patients per year. Our patients are at the heart of all that we do. Our aim is support patients to remain in their own homes, avoid admission and assist with early discharge from inpatient care. We are a dedicated and highly skilled team, committed to delivering the best possible care to our patients. AMDU is a unique area as our service must constantly evolve via the creation of new pathways to meet the needs of our patients and the service. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team. You should be passionate about innovation of service delivery and keen to contribute to the development of nursing practice based on published research and audit data.

Main duties of the job
Essential responsibilities of this post include promoting and implementing practice conducive to development of high quality patient care by provision of professional, clinical and managerial leadership. Coordination of staff and patients within their plans of care with prompt communication to multidisciplinary team of any changes of patients' status. Working as a role model demonstrating the NNUH Pride values and expertise within our sphere of practice. Taking charge of the department in the absence of the departmental Sister. Providing support and guidance to all staff ensuring all policies procedures and guidelines are adhered to and practice is in accordance with NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

- Ensure practice is in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and work within limits of competence.
- Assist the Ward/Department manager in maintaining standards of nursing practice.
- Carry out and advise/supervise junior staff in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluating of nursing care.
