Do you have a passion for research? Are you looking to work for a flexible team, playing a key role in widely recognised research studies?

Research at NNUH is conducted primarily at the NIHR Norfolk Clinical Research Facility (CRF), located at the main hospital as well as the Quadram Institute on the Norwich Research Park. The Norfolk CRF is one of 28 NIHR- partly funded clinical research facilities networked across the UK, which gives superb access to sites, expertise and research infrastructure.

Team NNUH's Research and Development department have an opportunity for a Clinical Trials Assistant within the Cardiology Cath Lab.

We have a shared goal within our team; to undertake clinical research to improve treatment and care of patients here at NNUH and beyond. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to this goal and will recognise its significance; as well as the importance of our Trust's PRIDE values. Research is highly regulated locally, nationally and internationally; in accordance with ICH-Good Clinical Practice (GCP), EU clinical trial regulations, standard operating procedures (SOP's) and Trust policies therefore, you should have an understanding of trial protocols and policies, as well as an awareness of research governance issues.

If you are considering applying for this post on a secondment basis, please discuss with your Line Manager prior to applying to ascertain whether this could be supported.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work alongside the Research team and be responsible for daily trial activities according to the specific requirements within their competencies and experience. As post-holder, you will play a key role in our many ground-breaking research studies; most recently NNUH has been recognised nationally for playing a key role in the development of a highly effective new coronavirus vaccine. We are lucky to have Norwich Research Park as our neighbour, as well as strong links to the University of East Anglia and colleagues around the region, which means you will have the opportunity to network and regularly share your knowledge and findings.

The post of Clinical Trials Assistant is perfect for an organised individual who is happy to work both independently and as part of a wider team.

If you like to be kept busy and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you have made a difference, we would love to hear from you.
