Job summary
Our QSI-accredited Radiology Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals is looking for high motivated, enthusiastic Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographers to join its friendly team and support the development of the Radiology Department.
The Radiology Department boasts 11 general rooms with 3 in a busy and exciting ED unit; most of our rooms are DR. We also have Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Dentals, DXA and Cardiac Cath Lab (including PPCI). We have the new Norfolk Centre for Interventional Radiology Unit and our Cath Lab is undergoing expansion/refurbishment.
There are 27 theatres in which we have a range of Image Intensifiers. Cromer Hospital forms part of the Trust and is situated on the beautiful North Norfolk coast.
The Cromer Radiology department has 2 general rooms supporting a busy MIU, GP's and clinics together with a procedure room with its own image intensifier. Also on site at Cromer are Mammography, US, MRI and DXA.

Main duties of the job
As post holder you will undertake professional, high quality and responsive imaging service to patients, in a safe clinical environment.

Hours of work: Full Time and part time hours are available. Shifts are a mixture of long and short days.
As post holder, you will be required to work flexibly - weekday / weekend and out of hour's duties within the NNUH Trust including Cromer District Hospital. We operate a 7 day working week which includes rostering at nights, weekends and Bank Holidays. We offer flexible working opportunities as well.

- To contribute to the training of undergraduates, postgraduates, including medical staff, medical students and radiographic assistants applicable to their needs on a daily basis.
- Show evidence of Continued Professional Development. Fulfil mandatory training requirements, in-service and staff development training and take part in the annual appraisal system.
- Ensure a high standard of professionalism and patient care within their work area. This includes appropriate communication with patients providing reassurance and obtaining the patients confidence and co-operation to obtain the required diagnostic images.
- Comply with all relevant Trust policies and procedures.
- Report all incidents or accidents involving patients, visitors or staff and ensure complete accurate statements and reports are submitted.
- Liaise with the department leads regarding equipment maintenance and faults, ensuring that the correct documentation is completed.
- Promote awareness of and compliance with policies and protocols for the correct use of the radiology service.
- As part of the team contribute to the organisation of the day to day workload ensuring that delays to patients are kept to a minimum; assessing and prioritising according to clinical need.
- To maintain accurate departmental records, paying particular regard to the cyber code of conduct and internal standards of good practice relating to patient information.
- To review current customs and practices within their team and modality and to take part in innovative and constructive problem solving to develop and improve the service
- To maintain professional standards according to the registration criteria as defined by HCPC and Code of Conduct of the College of Radiographers.
- To take part in any audit and research projects being undertaken within the directorate.
- To promote good relationships in their dealings with other departments, hospital staff, patients and the public.
