Job summary

Norwich and Norfolk University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a head of PMO to join the recently established Transformation team.

The Transformation directorate has a vital role in the delivery of Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust transformation and improvement programme outlined in its overarching Caring with Pride strategy. The Transformation team is split into two functions: the Programme Management Office (responsible for ensuring appropriate programme governance oversight and assurance) and the Transformation team responsible for project delivery of complex change programmes (as set out in the transformation programme) working alongside the SROs.

The key functions of the PMO include:

  • Direct and lead the Trust PMO on a day to day basis in order to monitor, drive and challenge the delivery of the cost improvement and strategic transformational initiatives across the Trust
  • Establish and maintain strong governance, processes and standardised documentation for all projects and programmes
  • Formally review and challenge project documentation and outcomes
  • Capture lessons learnt from previous projects to develop and build organisational knowledge and experience
  • Provide progress reports against planned delivery, performance metrics and agreed milestones to all key stakeholders (internal and external)

Main duties of the job

As the Head of PMO, you will be:

  • Accountable to Transformation Director and will support the delivery of the Cost Improvement Programme (CIP) and strategic transformation initiatives on behalf of NNUH.
  • Responsible for providing support to the PMO to deliver high quality information, to support prioritisation of project deliverables, progress of these projects and highlighting any risks and benefits associated with these projects. They will be expected to work closely with Trust directorate and divisional management teams on a regular basis and work alongside the deputy director of Transformation

You will support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service and is expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrates NNUH's P.R.I.D.E values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence.
