Job summary

The Day Procedure Unit is a fullyintegratedunit comprising of Surgical and Anaesthetic pre-assessment, theatres, recovery areas and wards.

Our aim is to put patients first in an area of the highest quality of care. Alongside the nursing and medical teams, theadministrative team ensures the unit runs smoothly, effectively and act as a reliable point of contact along a patient's pathway.

As part of this large and friendly team you'll be expected to maintain a high level of the patient-focused care we aim to deliver for our patients.

The Arthur South Day Procedures Unit is open between Monday - Saturday between 6.30am - 10pm.

Shifts are on a rota basis consisting of:

06:30 - 14:30

12:00 - 20:00

14:00 - 22:00

Main Theatres Reception 08:00 - 16:00, and the Ambulatory Procedures Unit is open 06:30 - 19:00, with shifts consisting of:

06:30 - 14:30

12:00 - 20:00

We are looking for one candidate, at 22.5 hours (3 working days).

Main duties of the job

You will provide efficient reception and clerical duties in a busy and challenging environment in order to ensure that patients, relatives and visitors who attend the Arthur South Day Procedure Unit, Pre-Operative Assessment, Ambulatory procedures Unit and/or Main Theatres Reception are greeted, and information verified, in a friendly and effective manner.

Ensure that all patient details are kept up to date on the patient management system in order that information is available for theatre lists, audit purposes and any other data that may be required.

You will ensure the smooth running of the unit by liaising closely with the multidisciplinary team within the unit, with other Trust departments, community services and general practitioners.

You will also support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence.
