Job summary
This a full time Senior Clinical Fellow (Middle Grade) post in Gastroenterology in response to Service need. The post is fixed term for 6 months (September to March 2024)
We are looking for a doctor to join us in the Gastroenterology Department at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. The role will have inpatient and outpatient duties. While this will be a service post, there will be training opportunities available to successful applicants.
A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

Main duties of the job
All employees, including the appointee, will be expected to be involved in implementing the Trust's Clinical Governance programme. This includes active participation in clinical audit, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management.
The post will largely be involved in providing high quality inpatient care to our large cohort of Gastroenterology inpatients. The inpatient teams are divided into 3 (luminal Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition) and the successful applicant will likely rotate through these teams
We provide an 8am to 9pm 7-day Gastroenterology service which the appointee will be expected to contribute.
The successful applicant will be allocated a Clinical/educational Supervisor so that in addition to service provision, training opportunities and personal development opportunities can be identified.

The trust will be commemorating 250 years of a hospital in Norwich in 2022
- Cromer and District Hospital is located in Cromer on the North Norfolk coast and serves the North Norfolk population. It was redeveloped in 2012 to replace the 1930s-founded hospital. We provide a wide range of consultant-led outpatient services, day case operations and a Minor Injuries Unit (MIU). The trust commemorated 150 years of a hospital in Cromer in 2017/18.
