Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital to work within Post and Undergraduate Medical Education (PGME) school.

The PGME provides a stimulating and supportive learning environment for post and undergraduate medical students. The successful candidate will work closely with the Directors of Medical Education / Operational Managers, Royal Collage Tutors, Training programme Directors (TPDs), Medical sponsors and the PGME staff.

This role has responsibilities for a wide range of Medical and Simulation programmes along with hands on preparation of medical courses situated in the technical skill lab/ PGME and simulation centre.

You will need to be extremely confident, organised, and able to multitask along with strong computer skills. There are periods of extreme pressure and lone working which include manual handling/ cadaveric work/ live animal tissue preparation and virtual reality filming/editing.

Main duties of the job

As the successful post-holder, you will:

Have a strong background or relevant experience of the sector - NHS/ medical /education and or technical skills laboratory (TSL) work.

Provide specialist support to facilitate and enhance the PGME's portfolio of medical education programmes.

Provide specialist knowledge across a range of Medical /Dental education programmes and support hands on teaching programmes that utilise cadaveric and animal tissue, for teaching medical trainees.

There may be occasions of unsociable hours and weekends required

Full time: 37.5 hours per week

  • Educated to Degree Level in Mechanical/Electronic Engineering or have significant equivalent technical equipment/systems support experience.

Experience

  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic engineering, electro-mechanical and computer systems
