Gissing Ward is the Regional Unit for Head and Neck surgery specializing in reconstructive Plastic Surgery, Ear, Nose and Throat, Maxillofacial and Dermatology.

Our nursing teams work alongside a range of dedicated Healthcare Professionals to deliver collaborative and integrated care using a multi-disciplinary approach. As a new member of the Gissing team you will be supported by our ward based Clinical Educator to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to care for a range of surgical patients. A tailored induction program will include spoke placements in associated clinics and time spent with members of the wider team.

Main duties of the job

You will have the opportunity to work with all members of the Ward/Department clinical team within the multi-disciplinary framework, maintaining a high standard of patient care under the direction of the Ward/Department Sister/Charge Nurse.

In the absence of a more senior member of staff, act as a leader in the clinical area.

You will also support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, and act as a role model to others in all aspects of work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence.

Provide specialist care to our unique case load of patients including Tracheostomy and Laryngectomy care, as well as the post operative care of free flaps.
