Job summary
Our Trust is on an incredible journey of innovation and we'd like you to be part of it. To excel, you will be an enthusiastic, caring and compassionate individual who is looking to work within a Trust that is ambitious to perform well and has been recognised by the Care Quality Commission as one of the fastest improving mental health Trusts in the country.
We are looking to recruit a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) to join our Mental Health Support Team (MHST). This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated practitioner to deliver evidence-based interventions and contribute to the continued development of our service.
The role involves delivering low-intensity, CBT-informed interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties. You will work within schools and education settings, supporting early intervention and improving access to mental health support for children and families.
As a qualified EMHP, you will work autonomously within your scope of practice, undertaking assessments, delivering structured interventions, and monitoring outcomes in line with national guidance and MHST frameworks.
Main duties of the job
In addition to your clinical work, you will play an important role in supporting the development of others within the team, including newer EMHPs and trainees. This may include sharing skills, contributing to case discussions, modelling good practice, and supporting a positive learning culture within the service. You will also contribute to whole-team reflective practice and collaborative working.
Applicants must have successfully completed an approved EMHP training programme and be able to demonstrate core competencies in delivering low-intensity CBT interventions with children and young people.
Our vision is 'To be Outstanding in all we do and how we do it.' Our teams pride themselves on compassion, teamwork and resilience. The Trust supports you by offering a flexible shift system and compressed hours to support working families, and staff parking is free on all our main sites.
You can expect Continuing Professional Development (CPD) tailored to your professional development needs, with individual CPD advice available from our Practice Education Team. You will receive regular supervision in line with Trust values and professional standards, with opportunities to further develop your clinical skills and areas of interest.
