Job summary
The Crisis Care Centre is a key part of the urgent care pathway in North Staffordshire, providing an all-age single point of access to mental health services. It delivers a 24/7 crisis response, including intensive home treatment as an alternative to inpatient admission. This role offers the opportunity to shape a vital community crisis service, making a direct impact on patient care, staff experience & service quality.
The Operational Manager (Quality, Safety & Workforce Development Lead) will ensure safe, efficient day-to-day service delivery across the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team. As one of two Band 7 Operational Managers, the post holder will share responsibility for high-quality delivery, focusing on consistent clinical standards, strong governance & quality assurance, & a supported, skilled & resilient workforce.
You will be an experienced operational leader with a strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, & workforce development. You will demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, & organisational skills, with a commitment to supporting staff & maintaining high standards of care.
Main duties of the job
1. To ensure that the values and principles of the organisation are translated into the philosophy and operational policy/service specifications for the services and that these are evident in everyday practice and reviewed on a regular basis, ensuring that the services are delivered and developed in line with relevant Trust policies, procedures and values.
2. To establish, develop and review policies, practices and procedures which meet legislative, Trust and directorate requirements.
3. To contribute to strategy and clinical governance plans for the service area and directorate. To take a lead in implementing specific projects in relation to this. Develop and maintain links and support networks with other teams within the service area, ensuring consistency.
4. To facilitate an environment where the physical, emotional, health, social, educational, cultural and spiritual needs of service users can be met. With a specific focus of safe, caring, responsive, effective and well led service delivery.
5. To be responsible overseeing the maintenance of the building and grounds, and ensure safe systems of work are adhered to, so that the environment is safe, pleasant, fit for purpose. This includes responsibility for implementing and developing health and safety protocols and individual risk assessments with the staff team.
