Ward 2 Activity Worker
We are looking for a highly motivated Band 3 Activity Worker to be part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing positive care for our service users on an adult acute inpatient ward.
Working on an adult acute inpatient ward the post holder will be supervised and will work with the ward team to co-ordinate a programme of meaningful ward activities based on service user choice.
Training will be provided and post holders will be expected to participate in their own skill development.
Ward 2 is an acute ward for males of working age. We offer assessment and initial treatment for males with a variety of mental health needs, and work closely with other services to ensure ongoing recovery. We pride ourselves in offering intuitive, person centred interventions and we keep people at the heart of everything we do.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role are:
To support the clinical team in providing a meaningful and therapeutic day for the patient group by providing diversional activities, support and practical assistance without the direct supervision of qualified staff. These activities may take place in either a community or centre setting.
To contribute to the effective running of the unit, undertaking appropriate basic nursing and housekeeping tasks.
To establish and maintain a rapport with young people, carers, relatives and visitors and to contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
