B6 Community Mental Health Nurse

20.5 hours per week

Fixed Term for 6 months

To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team providing Adult Community Mental Health Services for Newcastle clients and their families. The nature of the client group and the philosophy of the team will require the post holder to work flexible hours.

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of recovery-based care programmes and the setting of standards of care to service users and their families.

The post holder will deputise for the Team Lead / Clinical Lead when required and undertake lead/senior roles within the Team.

The maintenance of positive working relationships and liaison with other departments, agencies and bodies both internal and external to the Trust is critical to the successful application of this role.

Main duties of the job

To have the responsibility for the delivery of Mental Health services to specific individuals.

Coordinating clinical activity, liaison with the rest of the Newcastle Adult Community Mental Health Team and other appropriate teams, services and agencies.

Immediate problem solving and decision making and contributing to long term planning for future developments both within the immediate clinical area and within the service area.

To ensure that the values and principles of the organisation and of the service area are translated into the philosophy and operational policy of the clinical team and that these are evident in everyday practice.
