Job summary
The Trust is aiming to recruit a full time Consultant to work in one of our 3 CAMHS CMHTs.
The role is in the North Stoke CMHT, based at Roundwell in Tunstall.
The team is well established with a full multidisciplinary team, offering tier 3 services to young people in an urban catchment area.
The post will form part of our medical team in CAMHS, joining 4 other substantive consultants in child and adolescent services.
The Trust provides the regional CYP inpatient service, based at the Darwin Centre and has specialist services for eating disorders and neurodevelopmental conditions.
The post holder will contribute to the ageless consultant on call rota, this being a 1 in 22.
The Trust has strong links to Keele University and an active Research and Development team.
The Trust is rated Outstanding by CQC and was awarded the HSJ NHS Trust of the Year 2022.
There are opportunities to develop special interest sessions in medical education, psychotherapy, research and management roles and the Trust welcomes conversations regarding flexible working
Main duties of the job
The Trust is seeking a consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join its community CAMHS services. This is a new post. Community CAMHS in North Staffordshire is spread over 3 bases, Tunstall, Blurton and North Staffs. The post holder would be based at North Stoke CAMHS team at Roundwell Street, Tunstall. There is also a Tier 4 service Darwin Centre and an Intensive Support team who support young people in their homes when needed.
The CAMHS CMHT post comprises working alongside the existing full time consultant and taking on a proportionate component catchment area which includes the market towns of Newcastle under Lyme and Leek and surrounding area, the total population being around 200,000.
