Band 5 Senior Peer Support Worker:
An exciting opportunity has developed for a band 5 Senior Peer Support Worker Supervisor to join our inpatient services.
The role of Senior Peer Support Worker Supervisor (Senior PSWS) has been developed specifically for people who have lived experience of recovery from mental health challenges and who has experience of effectively utilising their recovery journey within mental health settings, in a Peer Support Worker capacity. They will also have experience of supervising other Peer support workers. In the context of NSCHT, the Senior Peer Support Worker Supervisor will (with guidance from the Recovery and Experience Lead) facilitate and support the introduction of peer support worker roles across our Inpatient services, our approach to trauma informed practice and help to shape our exciting developments within the culture of care standards. The role will include embedding coproduction across the directorate and directly input into the development and sustainability of peer support worker posts, including role definition.
The Senior PSWS will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others, taking a lead role in embedding recovery values within the service settings in which they work, alongside other Trust recovery champions. The post holder will act as an ambassador of recovery for the Trust with external agencies and partner organisations, co-delivering learning and development sessions to external agencies.
