Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Admin Lead within Moorcroft Medical Centre, within the Primary Care Directorate.

Band 4 - £25,147 - £27,596 per annum - 37.5 hours per week, full time.

You will offer support and guidance to the admin and clerical staff within the team and offer direct support to the Service Manager.

Main duties of the job

Providing and receiving routine information which may sometimes require tact or persuasive skills to overcome barriers to understanding. This may involve providing and receiving of sensitive or complex information, providing advice, instruction or training where the subject matter is straightforward. In particular this will involve the following responsibilities:

  • Responding to appropriate requests for information
  • Acting on correspondence - responding to, or referring to the appropriate person
  • Providing routine advice on areas of knowledge/expertise, in a manner relevant to the audience and topic area (ie patients, carers, complexity)
  • Liaison with partner services and organisations
  • Preparation/completion of routine documents, including letters, reports, presentations and forms e.g. purchase order requisitions, photocopying, filing
  • Handling telephone queries
  • Assisting patients/clients/relatives with non-clinical advice
  • Teaching and supporting new Admin team members and providing aspects of the team induction and training to new starters regarding the building and admin processes.
  • Organise and prepare for clinics ensuring checking list and updating of relevant statistics related to medical caseloads
  • Electronic patient record (EPR) management
