Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Painter & Decorator to work within our Estates team, working full time 37.5 hours per week.
Band 4, £25,147 - £27,596 plus enhanced pay for on-call and overtime.
Main duties of the job
To provide a painting and decorating service within healthcare premises including maintenance ofexisting building fabric and full re-decorating works (lifecycle), to meet the needs of the Trust, byoperating an efficient and effective Estates Service within the Trusts healthcare facilities to ensurethe safe delivery of patient care; by
- Delivering a planned maintenance, repair & installations service which always represents quality and value for money.
- Providing a safe maintenance service to all building\construction related infrastructure.
- Assisting in the development of the Estates function into a customer focused range of services.
- Adopting a flexible, integrated working approach to the delivery of Estates Service
To work autonomously with estates colleagues, effectively organising and managing the decorating workload and resources with due regard to management requirements. To be prepared and willing to undertake other associated works as required.

- Apply the highest standards of painting and decorating in the process of maintaining, refurbishing and new build of a modern, complex health estate both internally and externally, under COSHH Regulations.
- Prioritise, organise and manage own resources and materials by reference to Estates Department standards through direct consultation with Estates management and the customer while working independently with appropriate management support and where necessary reschedule prevailing work to meet local service demands.
- Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings, and specifications appropriate to this trade, without supervision
- Painting and decorating all Trust property, internally and externally, to acceptable craft standards and using approved methods of working
- Assist and support other trade staff and contractors, as necessary.
- Transportation, erection, dismantling and use of scaffolding and access equipment as required under PASMA qualification/training, working from height as a major factor.
