Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time enthusiastic and dynamic Assistant Psychologist (Band 4) to join the Early Intervention Service. Working in our First Episode Psychosis Pathway, you will form part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team providing support and interventions to people aged 14 - 65 years old who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Our multi-disciplinary service offers specialist assessment, advice and a range of therapeutic interventions to our service users and their families; providing intensive support for a period of up to three years.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the team you will support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the specialty, across all sectors of care; providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with the qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.

Under the clinical supervision of a qualified psychologist, undertakes assessments of neuropsychological status and function, personality, beliefs, attitudes, behaviour, emotional function, other relevant psychological characteristics and dimensions and factors relevant to the development, maintenance and understanding of the clients difficulties, using standardised psychometric instruments, protocol based assessment tools, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and structured and semi-structured interviews as required. Utilises assessment techniques directly with clients and collects information from family members and others involved in the clients care as appropriate.

  1.
