This is a real opportunity for an enthusiastic and engaging, experienced Psychologist to be part of significant developments in community-based adult mental health services as part of the Community Transformation Programme. The post involves provision of clinical leadership and nurturance of the psychological mindedness of multi-disciplinary teams and leadership in the development of psychological interventions pathways as part of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies for people with Severe Mental Health Problems (IAPT- SMHP).If you are looking to progress your career by moving into a clinical leadership role and have an interest and passion to improve access to psychological interventions for people with complex mental health needs this is the ideal post for you. The successful candidate will be able to lead continued service improvement, promote a positive image of the Service and wider Trust, undertake formal research and provide clinical supervision and training to colleagues less experienced.
Main duties of the job
To lead on psychological intervention pathways developments across the Directorate to improve access to psychological interventions for people with complex mental health needs.
To ensure systems are in place and working effectively for the clinical and professional supervision and support of psychologists, therapists and multi-disciplinary staff working with people with complex mental health needs.
To take a lead for workforce planning in and related recruitment and staff professional development activities within but not limited to the Community Mental Health Directorate.
Responsible for the highly specialist psychological assessment and care-planning of clients with highly complex mental health conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources.
Responsible for recognising the potential for or signs of client harm, abuse or neglect, including poor clinical practice, reporting all such concerns and taking all reasonable steps to protect the client. Responsible for identifying and reporting concerns regarding the safeguarding of children who may be at risk.
You will provide clinical leadership across the Directorate, work autonomously within professional guidelines and provide professional appraisal and identification of CPD needs.

Formulates plans for highly specialist psychological therapy and/or management of clients mental health conditions based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence-based practice. Negotiates the implementation of care plans with clients and/or their carers,
Implements a range of highly specialist psychological therapies for individual clients with complex mental health difficulties, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as required.

- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical / counselling psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
Experience

- Must have substantial experience of Working as a qualified applied psychologist within the designated service including a wide variety of client groups including adult, with a range of clinical severity across care settings.
