We are looking to expand our Band 5 Nursing Team within Gynaecology.
The role will include working in our Early Pregnancy and Gynaecology Unit and supporting our Gynaecology diagnostic lists, which include, Hysteroscopy and Colposcopy.

Main duties of the job
- Deliver a high standard of nursing care without direct supervision, based upon a sound evidence base.
- Undertakes and documents a comprehensive, systematic and accurate nursing assessment of the physical, social and spiritual needs of the patient where appropriate.
- Creates and utilises opportunities to promote health and well-being of patients in their care.
- Manage a group of patients throughout a shift as delegated by the Lead Nurse.
- Working within the N.M.C Guidelines and Trust Policies recognising one's own abilities and limitation.

- Registered Nurse on the NMC register. To hold the appropriate level for the area of Speciality.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Teaching & assessing qualification

- Relevant qualifications required or course to area
Skills and Abilities
Essential
- Responsible for carrying out clinical practice within designated clinical areas, ensuring that high quality, current evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations for patients is provided from admission through to discharge
- Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
- Able to work as an effective team member
- Knowledge of Evidence Based Practice
- Competent in basic life support
- Awareness of the structure and organisation of the NHS
- Ability to administer prescribed medication including transfusion of blood and blood products
- Able to manage difficult situations
- Uses own initiative and can make clinical decisions using evidence-based rationale
