An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic physiotherapist to join the inpatient therapy team at George Eliot Hospital.

The successful candidate will join an exciting and ever-developing critical care and surgical therapy team covering:

- Adult critical care

- Surgical wards (elective & emergency)

- Respiratory physiotherapy support in the emergency department & maternity wards where required

- Weekend and overnight on call rota

- With potential to participate in critical care follow-up clinics

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver high standard, evidence-based physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients, to develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme, whilst working as part of an MDT.
  • To make informed clinical decisions to support timely discharge planning, including referral to other services.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner and hold responsibility for own caseload, whilst working under the supervision of a band 7 physiotherapist.
  • To support and supervise junior staff and physiotherapy students.
  • A flexible approach to day-to-day tasks is essential to meet the demands of the service, especially as some of our services work over 7 days per week. Applicants will be expected to travel, when necessary, as part of overnight on-call working.
