George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust are looking for a specialist clinical retention support midwife to join the team.
The retention of registered midwives in all settings is critical to the delivery of high-quality services. Registered midwives, as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, perform a varied range of essential roles to ensure safety and highest level of care.

Main duties of the job
The successful midwife will be required to ;
- To be an expert autonomous practitioner
- To provide clinical leadership and support to midwives within all clinical
- Support midwives to complete their competencies, including mandatory training in a timely manner and be part of the assessment process
- To embrace national recommendations in relation to midwifery practice, recruitment and retention and lead on developments as a result of these
- To be available to midwives to provide expert advice on all matters pertaining to midwifery practice.
- To be able to identify with help from other colleagues, who requires support and what level of support is required.
- Be able to flex your roster to enable you to work with the midwives who require support.
- To support midwives on development programmes, working with the line managers.
- To provide education and training in practice, to include skills drills and practical skills necessary for the midwife's extended
- To plan, implement and support key projects as identified by the Head of Midwifery and Neonates and matrons in line with trust wide/national initiatives.
- To support the Maternity Matron for Workforce around improving midwifery retention, supporting Return to Practice Midwives and International Recruitment.
- To be an active member of the following forums in a clinical expert capacity- Labour Ward Forum, QIPS, Audit meetings
