This is an exciting opportunity as a Healthcare Support Worker for the SDEC unit, whereby an individual is able to further develop skills and work within a skilled fast-paced team. The Unit is a small, busy, and friendly team.

Main duties of the job

  • To clinically support with undertaking delegated duties as directed by the SDEC team when managing a cohort of patients who are under the clinical responsibility of the SDEC Team.
  • To support and work alongside the SDEC team with treating and providing basic care needs of patients that present within the SDEC Unit in line with local protocols and SDEC Unit pathways.
  • To work closely with staff in Emergency Department, Urgent Care Team, General Practitioners and Capacity team whilst maintaining an efficient, effective, safe delivery of patient care within the Ambulatory Care Unit. Support the flow of patients from the Emergency Department to Ambulatory Emergency Care in line with Ambulatory care Pathways.
  • Reporting any changes of patient's conditions to one of the SDEC's clinicians or Nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate appointment, filling and coding records as required.
  • Support the Lead Receptionist and admin with any administrative tasks that may be required.
