Main duties of the job
To lead and provide direction for information analysis within Trust's clinical directorates. This is abusiness focused role working closely with Managers and Clinicians within the directorates toensure they have the information they need to understand, manage and develop their services.To take an active role in and promote the use of Information to managers and clinicians;interpreting the information available within the Trust's Business Intelligence (BI) systems; usingpredictive techniques to highlight variation and forecast trends; and working with managers andclinicians to provide information to support improving efficiency of services and to support thedeveloping agenda around transformation within the trust.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will work across all George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust services providing highly specialist technical and analytical support to managers throughout the organization. The post holder will be responsible for operational and developmental work streams.
- To evaluate and table suggestions to amend strategy regarding any information issues requiring resolution as appropriate to ensure good quality information.
- Manage the clinical coding team for the Trust so as to ensure that coding is accurate and timely in accordance with internal and external requirements.
- To translate and communicate highly complex information both internally and externally to individuals or groups to ensure it is understood and acted on appropriately.
- Communicates with ease highly complex information and analysis to peers and individuals with no background knowledge in information to ensure the message is clear and concise.
- To be visible within the hospital to promote our directorates services and strategies.
- To liaise with management and directors and attend meetings to raise awareness of information issues.
- To liaise with ward staff/management/directors when information is conflicting to ensure a resolution can be achieved.
- To ensure reporting is clear and concise so that the audience understands the message.
- To liaise with other members of the department to ensure daily business outcomes are achieved.
- To provide training using presentation skills on complicated information issues to individuals and groups to promote a better understanding of information throughout the trust to large groups.
- Build effective relationships within the team, throughout the Trust and with our key stakeholders. Ensuring regular reports meet their needs and improve their analysis and interpretation skills of all information.
- Be the voice of the Trust regarding all coding changes and systems developments. Develop and evaluate appropriate coding techniques, including computer applications and encoders. Implement agreed systems.
- Proven experience managing staff ensuring they are motivated and personally developed.
- Undertake large presentations to medical staff and consultants on data quality, coding and medical needs of the coding remit.

- oEducated to MBBS or master level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area.
- oNHS Experience in Clinical Coding or Clinical experience with patient records
