ISH Health Care Assistant
£22,816 - £24,336 per annum per rata
37.5 Hours a week fulltime, part time and job share considered

Main duties of the job
Under supervision, will support trained staff in providing optimum patient care to all attending the Integrated Sexual Health Service, ensuring adherence to Trust policy at all times. This may include the supporting patients who present with sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, contraception requirements and/or any other sexual health related problems.

- Responsible for own actions, ensuring all patient interactions/observations are communicated to the appropriate healthcare practitioner.
- Undertake agreed clinical and non-clinical tasks, extending range following training in defined practices. Ensure referral to the appropriate healthcare practitioner where appropriate.
- Ensures all enquiries are dealt with appropriately, developing a confident and positive customer care approach.
- Setting up and clearing away of clinical areas.
- Acts as a chaperone during intimate examinations, providing support and reassurance to patients throughout.

- Maintaining and protecting the privacy and dignity of clients at all times.
- Explains all procedures to patients.
- Follows Trust and service guidelines as appropriate.
