Main duties of the job

Job Purpose: To support the Information Services team in providing an accurate and efficient information service for the trust. The post holder isrequired to extract, analyse and report information to agreed deadlines under minimal supervision. To process and validate national data sets andinvestigate data quality issues. To provide support and cover for colleagues where necessary.

To deal with telephone enquiries and take appropriate action.To discuss complex information requests and translate them into reporting requirements.To ensure reporting is clear, concise and well presented so that the audience understands the message.To liaise with other members of the department to ensure daily business outcomes are achieved.Knowledge, Training & Experience To have good computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office products such as Access and Excel; knowledgeof other applications such as SQL Server, and patient information systems.To have knowledge of the NHS data dictionary and data definitions and how to apply them.To receive informal training through mentorship and shadowing to learn new skills, increase knowledge and expand job portfolio.To ensure a constant updating of skills including updating protocols and training. Qualification(s) and Professional Training

Essential

  • Educated to master level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area.
  • Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development
  • Power BI along with Data Modelling is preferable

Desirable

  • Experience in using one or more SQL servers 2012/2014/2016, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake
  • Certificate in using Microsoft applications. Microsoft-certified Azure/SQL Server

Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience working with remote and multi-disciplinary teams and driving forward complex work programmes
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through a postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent.

  • Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.
  • Should have an appreciation of the relationship between various stakeholders.
