Job summary
The purpose of this role is to manage and support the delivery of ICT solutions within the Wye Valley NHS Trust Pharmacydirectorate,ensuring that data systems aremaintained, current, and aligned with operational needs. This includes enabling efficient, responsive, and financially sound pharmacy operations; supportingaccurateprocurement, dispensing, and labelling of medicines; and ensuring clear visibility of medicine availability.
The post-holder will lead the Pharmacy Data Systems team, liaise with internal stakeholders and external providers, and ensure high-quality, evidence-based data reporting. They will also oversee staff training and development in data systems, contribute to business continuity planning, and ensure that all digital services meet departmental, Trust, and NHS strategicobjectives.There will also be operational commitment to the Pharmacy service weekendsand Bank Holidays on a formal rota (currently 1:6).(ROTATION FREQUENCY SUBJECT TO CHANGE)
Main duties of the job

Toidentify, develop, and lead improvementsfor thepharmacy data systems, ensuring they meet operational needs and align with Pharmacy Board directives.

Tomaintainand implement written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training programs to support consistent and compliant use of Pharmacy Data systems.

To schedule and oversee maintenance and development tasks for the Pharmacy Data Systems team, while actively contributing to their execution.

To investigate and respond to data system or reporting errors, directing correctiveactionsand escalating to the Chief Technician when necessary.

To develop and implement operational processes forthecabinetsacross the Trust's clinical sites.

To manage the maintenance and accuracy of data, ensuring compliance with financial, regulatory, and procedural standards.

To ensure that data sets used for medicine procurement, distribution, and dispensing areaccurate, up to date, and compliant with regulatory and professional standards
