We are looking for an experienced nurse to step into the post of Ward Sister/Charge Nurse for Coronary Care Unit (CCU). CCU is a 6 bedded Level 2 area for patients with cardiac conditions, with close links to the Hereford and Worcester Cath Lab and Lugg ward (cardiology ward).

The successful post holder will have excellent leadership and management skills and be committed to providing an inclusive environment where staff and patients are encouraged to thrive and reach their maximum potential.
You will have extensive experience and skills in cardiac nursing
You will be expected to provide leadership and support to the nursing team on the ward and ensure standards are maintained.
Main duties of the job
To be accountable and responsible for the standards of care provided on the ward.
To ensure the development of patient centred care utilising available evidence based practice to attain this.
To promote good clinical practice and innovation through staff development and ensure that planning and implementation of service delivery achieves high standards of patient care.
To demonstrate effective communication, utilizing a range of strategies, to ensure agreement and co-operation within large diverse groups.
To contribute to the achievement of corporate objectives.
To participate in the delivery of direct patient care.
To act as a role model for staff and visitors to the ward.
To be a supportive and compassionate leader
To influence and implement the local and national Clinical Governance agenda.To demonstrate up to date knowledge of national and local professional issues and toLead / facilitate the implementation at a local level.
To monitor and report on clinical and professional issues and take action as required.
To ensure adherence to the Trust's Health and Safety policies.To support the Matron and Associate Chief Nurse in the implementation of his/her role.To undertake any other duties, required by the Matron and Associate Chief Nurse,appropriate to the band and relevant to the post.To minimise hazards in the working area and report any identifiable hazards to the linemanager. To adhere to all safe systems of work applicable to the work area.
