Job summary
The role of Specialised Cardiology Physiologist/ Clinical Scientist is to provide a highquality, patient focused, efficient Cardiac Physiology service within Wye Valley NHSTrust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have a high level of sensitive and effectivecommunication skills with patients, their relatives and carers, staff andcolleagues in the multidisciplinary team as required to fulfil the duties of the post particularly in critical clinical situations.
To work as an independent practitioner of the Cardiology teamTo be BSE accredited, able to perform and report own echocardiograms and to amend and validate junior physiologists echocardiogram reports (or be working towards)
To provide a highly specialised technical service in all aspects ofEchocardiography and carry out the full range of techniques currently in use including transthoracic and transoesophageal echo, tissue doppler and strain rate imaging.

Essential
- BSc in Cardiac Physiology or equivalent qualification i.e. BSe Accredited Registered Nurse (Or training towards)
- Intermediate Life Support Training
- BSE/HRUK Qualified (or willingness to work towards)
Desirable
- MSc in Cardiac Health or equivalent (or willing to complete)
- The Society for Cardiology Science & Technology SCST part 1 & part 2
- The Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) Registered or NMC Registered
- Management and Leadership Qualification
- Multi-Slice Computer Tomography

- Extensive post graduate and specialisation experience in Advanced Echocardiography or Cardiac Rhythm Management
- Extensive experience of working in a technical Cardiology department.
- Ability to interpret electrocardiograms and holter monitors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong sense of attention to detail
- Ability to present at a National level to a variety of audiences
- Ability to participate in more advanced cardiac techniques
